Some Personal "Bosc" History

Dear blog reader. We appreciate any input you offer about our subjects. The following material provides background information about me in a particular period of months in my life. It's kind of like "Acts of the Apostles" in that it is incomplete and reflects a personal point of view. It's probably more than you get from a lot of writers. In this blog we plan to explore a lot of the moral issues raised in the Bible. If you find yourself getting bored reading this first posting, feel free to move down to the next posting.

In mid March of 1980 Pete Richards invited me along with him on a dinner date with Kate. Kate was a sweet girl whom back in September around Beverly’s pool Pete had gotten in the healing business. She claimed one of her legs was longer than the other. Pete Richardsl also attempted to heal Laura, who had diagnosed scoliosis of the spine. I’m not sure how much success Pete had. Pete probably invited me along to keep distance between himself and Kate. Pete, Kate, and I had dinner in some place on Katella which was noted for its down home food or something, and they advertised free chocolate cake for desert. Soon after this Kate departed the scene. (I refer you to “Jousting”)

In late March of 1980 [Forrest Gump] had purchased a yellow truck. I think he had only recently gotten his driver’s license. He called his truck “Amos”. In fact he had names for a lot of his personal items like his tape recorder ect. Laura was in an amorous mood this twilight evening. She kept singing excerpts from the “Good and Plenty” jingle. At this time we were living in the yellow house with Daryl as our roommate. Daryl had a black lavidor named Taho, and Taho and Toby got along well. Daryl liked to work on cars a lot and Pete Richards once told me he found it irritating that Daryl wasn’t doing more house chores. Pete Richards was easily “irritated” in those days.

At the beginning of April I began my third and final twelve week quarter at Criss College. The details of how I even got a third quarter are in “Jousting”. This was the quarter they fired a few teachers. Notably Mr. Collins. I used to have him after sixth period when we were waiting for two O clock to roll around to get in our full six hours. He was an easy going fellow students liked. He gave me a passing grade in Payroll when I hadn’t done a lot of the work. Tom Day was probably my best friend there. He came in when I did and graduated when I did. There was that fat guy, whom I often saw in later years on a bus or ran into him somewhere, and I had to say I wasn’t doing much. There was Cynthia, whom I first met going there to register for the college. She was friendly. There was Linda Gunn, who really seemed to come out of her shell. And there was a blonde named Susie and there were lots of others. One thing I never told anyone at CRISS was that I was a Christian. I had seen it backfire too many times before and since and keeping my lips sealed on the issue was a wise move indeed.

In mid April things were going fine. I guess it was Friday April 18th. that I accepted one of numerous offers of parents for dinner and a movie at the La Habra mall where Pete Richards worked. This time we had time and I went shopping. I bought three albums, “Victims of the Fury” by Robin Trower, “Rarities” –which was the new American version of the Rarities album of Beatles songs. There was already a British version out. And also I bought “Women and Children First” by Van Halen. I don’t remember what movie we saw. Afterwards as was customary I would meet up with Pete Richards, who was working as a Security Guard at the mall, and we would walk through the mall together and talk. I kind of miss this particular era.

The next night was the Bible Study. Laura was dressed in black, and looking sexy and she had a very flirtatious personality this night. One would have thought it was only a matter of time before we were having sex, [this part censored[..

In late April the weather had turned cool and overcast again. It would be about the last time. In early May the weather turned warm and sunny and pretty much stayed that way. In late April Alfred Hitchcock died. I think there was a book out. I was at CRISS college talking to someone about my dentist situation. I was having three upper wisdom teeth pulled. I had a “super-numary” or extra one. I think I was scheduled to have the lower ones out too, but I managed to delay that nine years. In “Jousting” I discuss Pete Richards’s saying my dental problems were affecting my personality. Dad also sounded this theme and in Oct. 1997 I was concerned enough to ask the dentist about infected brains and fevers and such. But it’s an even farther reach to say that a dental problem would have an adverse affect on my personality. (see “Jousting”)

Roll kettle drum. In early May, and I don’t remember the exact date, Pete Richards heard that what became known as the Bosc house was up for sale. I remember during this period of early May Pete Richards started getting uptight again. It’s almost as if some force was forcing Pete Richards to push things. The lady was a Christian. At the same time Mom was wondering where she could pick up some real estate and somehow Mom became more than a little interested in the house. I thought it was a bad idea from the word go. It would be like going backwards to move into a house your parents owned. In terms of rent it would go from 1/3 of $450.00 to half of $550.00. Not bright. I think it was mid May, perhaps Mothers Day, when we toured the Powers’ old house less than a block from where they lived. Obviously it would be absurd to live there. The funny thing is usually Real Estate deals have an escrow period. Maybe- - ten days?

The first Saturday in May several new people appeared at the Saturday night Bible study. There were Sylvia and Dilia. They were sisters. Sylvia was 20 and had been there the previous week. Dilia was a very mature fourteen. I liked the way she hugged. Also [cencered]. I didn’t particularly like him from day one. He seemed to have that motorcycle “tough guy” air about him. And there was Max, who was Colleen’s brother or something. I remember one time we and Jeff and Max were at a restaurant and Max mentioned some earthquake in Bishop or something. I think this was right after Mt. St. Helen’s had erupted. At this time Pete Richards was taking laborious notes on what happened at each Bible Study and who said what. Sometimes he read this journal to me.

[the following paragraph was censored completely]

You Mark Campbell fans: There’s no room for him in this file. We need to pick up the pace drastically or we’ll never get all this in.

In early May I purchased “Dreams” by Grace Slick. A little later I purchased “Flush the Fashion”, the last album in the old house. Those flashing green lines are back. Every time I press a letter the whole lower paragraph flashes green lines. In “Jousting” we discuss my interaction with Rev. Westfall during this period. I remember having some dream Dad and I got in an argument when he was putting up an antenna. Reverand Westfall said the letter I wrote him seemed like a suicide letter. The letter was no doubt frought with a lot of the anxiety I was feeling at the time.

In late May at the last Bible Study at the old house, Laura was there hanging around the kitchen, and Brian Rains happened to make the comment “You need to watch out for those films reeling in your mind. Especially that one pornographic one”. I think he was referring to my lust for Laura. (Brian was a projectionist)

We moved into the Bosc house Saturday May 31st. on a rare overcast day. We had a Bible study that night. A few days later Pete Richards, me, and parents took that family photo on the patio in front of that ash tree we ended up having to get rid of on May 13th. 1982. My hair is observably long and full and my face has an air of confidence. At this time Pete Richards really began to ride me about doing chores and such. The thing is, he had graduated CSUF. I was the one under pressure. The house was a regular weed menace, and Dad thought it insane that they should consider buying such a place, with so many trees and all. There were these cute sprigs of blue flower plant. Little did I know they would soon end up taking over the whole yard, front and back. I think they were water hyacinths. They all died mysteriously in the winter of ’87 – ’88. Just to set the record straight, upon doing further research the flowers were not hyacinths. I don’t know what they were.

[The beginning of this paragraph was censored]

Around mid June I bought “Blonde on Blonde” and “Heaven and Hell” at the La Habra mall. I took the bus home via Euclid and Lincoln, patiently waiting. Cindy Collins was back and I mentioned the Dylan album to her, and we also talked about the new Star Trek movie.

[One whole paragraph was sensored here]

I was feeling the pressure from Criss College doing the Practice Set and all in Accounting. I wanted to take the typing test to get it out of the way but they said “No, wait till you gain speed”. I was already typing 70 wpm. They were scheduling job interviews on campus. I felt pressure having to do an interview before I had even grad-uated. One thing at a time. There was a counselor there named Debby Vagner and she was friendly and everything but occasionally used obscene words and phrases. I saw her even after I graduated, but [the rest of this is sensored].

I was feeling beside myself and decided to write [censored] a letter. I said I felt as estranged from the Faith as Janis Joplin. I said I felt isolated. This letter met with a cooler response than any other. [cencored] clearly didn’t want to talk about it. Clearly, Christians let you down the time you need them most.

Parents came to the graduation at Criss. However the joy of the day was dampened because Mr. Bird, a new teacher and a real stickler, handed me back my practice set with lots of red marks on it. He failed to note the key word in the assignment was “Practice”. Linda Gunn made some comment to me and Pete Richards goes, “How come all the girls around here are so friendly tword you?”, and he had a note of hostility in his voice. We ate lunch out. I continued to go back to Criss the next week or so because they said I was missing some typing assignments but were vague about just what.

The Monday after graduation the weather continued hot, as it had been. I had a job interview in the late afternoon and took the bus down there in south Anaheim, and was hot and sweaty for the interview. I didn’t get the job.

The Bible Study was getting more spiritual and it seems often we had these long prayer vigils with the lights dimmed. I had a bunch of really strange dreams during the period. One time I drank a quarter bottle of rum just to get the image of one dream out of my mind. In early July I had a job interview in Orange, and someone drove me. The job was for someone with a “handicap”. I failed that interview too. In “Camera” I discuss both of these topics, and also how Pete Richards was spreading the roomer that it looked like I’d never get a job. I assumed I would because CETA had an investment in me, and they wouldn’t let me down. [one sentence deleted here]

In “Camera” we discuss how CMK members went Christian. This apparently occurred in early July. The Republican Convention occurred sometime in July.

Just how I came to write my book, “God’s Winepress” is an interesting topic, and I discuss it in two different ways in “Sougern” and “Camera”. In mid July or so I bought Queen’s “The Game”. A day or two later I took up smoking. One day I came across an unsmoked cigarette in the back yard. I liked it so much I decided I had been missing out. Smoking helped me think clearly. One time there was a prison break movie on TV and we were jotting down notes, “This would make a good example of how the antichrist works”. Ratting out friends, and other stuff. Actually I intended to put stuff about the Viet Nam War in my book and how “The country side is better than the cities” and stuff in the Stargate file. As it was there were notable things out of the Christian main stream in my book. I allude to the trinity as a monstrosity like a three headed snake. I say “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God” but I leave out “And the word was God”. We thought that might confuse our readers. There’s no talk about “living on the animal plane” or humans as a tripartite entity or how the Spirit comes in and reorganizes your life. I don’t say “Jesus Loves You” every other sentence. In other words, I don’t “stroke” my readers. Had I to do the book over again I would take more time with it and read it over and make sure it didn’t sound stilted. Gary, our next room mate made a remark to me that he had been working on a novel for eight months, and more or less indicated I was proceeding at a breakneck pace.

There was a trip to the beach with Laura on July 22nd. According to the “Camera” file (in the Yearling directory) Laura wore a light blue bathing suit and about the only thing I did was put suntan lotion on her. It was an overcast day but I think we were at the beach for over three hours. You’d think me and her would have a lot of time to talk. But Pete Richards was the one with the phallic symbol, ie. car. [two sentences were deleted here]

We first met Jim Cooper on Saturday July 26th. 1980, Mick Jagger’s birthday. Jim Cooper had a winning personality and we were eager to sign him on the dotted line. Jim seemed enthusiastic about my book plans. There was a problem with the power outlets on Jim’s side of the house which we tended to in early August. The swimming pool next door to the south was not empty. Jim and I went swimming there a few times. Jim liked to jump off the roof into the pool. I was too chicken to try that. The roof was kind of steep and frankly if you slipped, you would land on the cement.

In early August Pete Richards went on his annual backpack retreat. What was significant this year is that we were in Judy’s trailor and Judy makes the remark, “Yeah, but we have to keep up fellowship with something”. I thought, “You poor thing, you don’t know how Pete Richards’s mind works. If he wants to terminate the group for a few weeks or half the summer there isn’t anybody who can change Pete Richards’s mind”.

Previous Save 10:54 AM 47,616 Today

In mid August Pete Richards was back from his trip. Me and him and Laura and maybe others went on an outing to the stores of Knott’s Berry Farm. It was Laura’s birthday and she was 21 as of August 16th. She was in an amorous mood- downright physical. Per-haps it was due to some retreat she was just on. (in Sacramento?)

The next day, Sunday, we had people over. It was a celebration dinner for me finishing my book at breakneck speed in just three weeks. You see how absurd that is. Judy was in a bubbly mood. This was to change. Some time the following week, I con-tacted KNI printers about getting a print job done. I didn’t trust Publishers after bad luck with my first book. That was a mistake. When Pete Richards found out I had actually scheduled a print job for a book he went into a panic. He said “You can’t do that!” and other things to indicate he was strongly opposed. Pete Richards said “I’d like to know where you’re going to store them all”. In Pete Richards’s mind it was an impossibility that I would sell them.

On Sunday August 31st. in addition to Saturday, we had people over. Laura came dressed in a sexy outfit and was flirtatious. We were listening to Chuck Smith speak on Job and he spoke of Satan providing “an attractive alternative”. I had told Judy I felt pretty good about the past month or so- what I had accomplished. In a somewhat bitter tone of voice she responded, “Well, anything you accomplished was only with God’s help. You didn’t do it yourself”. This was the first time Judy “went negative” but it wouldn’t be the last. The words were almost a curse.

Labor Day, September 1st. me and Jim and Laura went to Laguna Beach. We climbed all over the rock formations looking at shells and such. We had fish and chips at some seaside place, and I had beer. Laura and I interacted OK but the only danger signal is when we went in some store afterwards and Laura was looking at lipstick or something and she and Jim got into an extended conversation. Some time around this period Jim said that he had kissed Laura and Laura got upset. I’m not sure what the deal was.

The next Saturday, September 6th. a new face, Jeane Hayse made her appear-ance. Jim Cooper had talked to her on the phone and was favorably impressed. I talked to her OK. Only thing she was one of the new phase of mental patients Pete Richards was starting to have over. Kind of like his own personal groupies.

I had a pastoral conference with Rev. Westfall some time the following week. I’m not sure whether I discussed my anxieties about Laura or what.

The next day, Sunday September 7th. was the Disneyland trip. In the late afternoon we had a Mexican dinner here. I think it was the first day of NFL season. The Disneyland trip went OK. I was a little bothered because Laura was distant and preferred to hang around with other people. At the end of the evening she gave Pete Richards some Christian albums to listen to, including Resurrection Band which in those days was Heavy Metal. The album was interesting.

The following Saturday, September 13th. was the swimming party at Judy’s trailer park. It was overcast all day, which was to prove prophetic. This is the day that was a disaster with Laura. She was wearing that same light blue bathing suit and looked alluring and all of that. But she gave me the silent treatment and all of that. There was just the time she beat me at billiards. At this time I had started writing the media again and I sent them two albums in the month of September.

About this time I got the “galleys” back from KNI printers. There were all sorts of typographical errors and a lot of them they had introduced into the text. But I added sentences and did my best to get spelling errors. I think Dad at one said at one time he found 295 errors in the text. Some of those errors were miniscule.

The following Saturday Pete Richards had a group of back packers over or whatever and when it was time to go this cute girl named Karen was hugging people good-bye and I was so desperate I was glad to have that. My psychological mood was depressed.

John Bonnum committed suicide sometime in late September. He took a combination of sleeping pills and booze and I guess he was barfing a lot. Obviously Led Zeppelin would never play again. The thing is I remember his death occurring late September of 1979, not 1980, just after “In Through the Out Door” had come out and had six different camera angles or something with “clues” in the picture.

Well, we’ve come to the end of this file. I’ve reported everything I intended to. If you want more info. just read either “Sougern”, “Camera”, or “Jousting”.

Just as a closing note here- - - if the Rapture of the Saints is to come, I predict it will come in late September at about 6:45 in the evening, or just barely after sunset. In my vision I sense the Dodgers and Giants playing, probably in San Francisco due to the color of the uniforms. The media probably isn’t surprised that I choose to end the file here because of what I put in my letters. We’ve tried to keep this file squeaky clean, morally. We don’t want to offend any KFI commentators named Jesus.

The Moral Argument

One of the most perswasive arguments used to prove God exists is the moral argument. Immanuel Kant, so I'm told, used the moral argument as his favorite. This belief says that man is morally accountable to a higher power. If man transgress against God's Pure Law in this life, he will be held accountable for his actions in the next. In Galations is says that whatever a man sows he shall also reep. This is true whether he sows for bad or sows for good. It is pointed out by Jesus Christ on KFI that our sins have a compounding effect. Our sin or thoughtless behavior may induce another person to sin in an instance where he might not have otherwise. It is written that in this world we shall have temption, but woe unto the man by whom the temptation comes. It is also true that good actions can have compounding effects. "It's a Wonderful Life" is a dramatic demonstration of this principle. If we are to believe soap operas when we confess our sins to a priest of whoever, the pardon will not take hold unless we "make it right" against any and all individuals whom we have wronged. This is a difficult thing for many to do. There is a line in a Blue Oyster Cult song that says "It all turns around in the end". Chuck Smith has promoted the theory that life is like a tapistry on which we are working on the reverse side, the side not normally seen, and that only God ssees the side visable to the public. Along this line of thinking after we die, we "shall know God even as we are known by him", and we too will at least see "the other side" of the tapistry and the beautiful pattern that God has worked out in our lives. Of course belief in these moral principles is an artical of Faith, and it is said we are to come to God by faith. One might say, "By faith we live our live our lives by high moral principles". They say that Scientology only allows for one proper "engram" and that is "Survive". I wonder what scientologists would think of adding another principle, Whatever measure you deal out to others will be dealt back to you". That's in the sermon on the Mount. Again it says "Judge not, lest you be judged" but Greek experts, of which I am not one, say that the word in Greek is one for "Condemn". We are not forbidden from making a moral evaluation of another. I at times wonder whether it's actually true that how we judge others will be how we are judged. Might such a verse be used to justify homosexuality or other perverted life style. I don't know. I guess I'll have to pray about it. Basically scripture is saying that before we condemn the actions of others we better be pretty darned sure of ourselves.

In keeping with what I just said I am here to make an apology over the blogisphere. I would like to publicly apologise to Brittany Speers, for making the implication, however vague, that her eight month son, Sean Preston, might somehow be the antichrist. This allusion that I made was totally unfounded and I know that saying it was harmful and sending out the wrong vibes into the universe. The baby looks as normal, spiritually, as any other baby, and once again I want to apologise for having made the statement I did.

The President of the United States has an awsome duty, with his finger on the nuclear button, to keep the Peace in the world. The United States right now is the only super power. We have been given a sacred trust by God to be stewards of the world. The President must excersise great wisdom in all of his actions and we owe it to our President to keep him in intercessory prayer daily. We need to pray that the situation in Iraq will not deteriorate, but that the United States be vindicated in its three years of struggle in the region and that all of our efforts to form a stable government in Iraq not be in vain. Certainly there is time to make everything right. We can even how emerge victorious and vindicated in our actions- - and terrorism can be put on the run and "Peace" will break out in the region of the mideast. Certainly it's a hopeful thought that after Iraq becomes a stable nation, that other nations may look to it as a model for them to pattern their own governments after. This would be a good thing.

Some say enlightenment can only be achieved through prayer and fasting. Others insist that trancendental meditation is the way to go. Others believe tight adherence to a particular religious creed is the only way to achieve a sense of enlightenment and justification. If we all seek to become part of that positive moral tapistry, a picture will begin to emerge. Others will see the emerging image and want to become part of it. I don't know what God ultimately has planned for this world. I personally wish scripture wasn't so vague. Belief in a God of morality is a matter of Faith. It is written "Whatever is not of faith is sin" so the logical thing one can do to keep from sinning is to maintain a life of Faith in the True God. (Selah)

OLD NEWS STORIES WE ARE JUST GETTINT AROUND TO

They were talking about why women are attracted to “Bad Boys”. First up on the list was Fonzi. Fonzi is kind of a Hollywood fabrication. He’s an anomally. He’s all show and no substance as far as being a “bad boy” or anything else. If a woman encounters a real “Bad Boy” there is probably some lacking thing in her personality that is attracted to “Bad Boys”. There is the line “If it seems to good to be true; it probably is too good to be true” I’m kind of thinking of that older man Iola Boyland was interested in on “Mama’s Family”. He turned out to be a first rate jerk. Some traits of Bad Boys remind me of Christians. If they call you eight times a day during your work day are they really doing this because they Care about you, or are they saying “I own you”. There is another trait that the Jesus Christ show has and also other Christians have- - and that is not being at all interested in your opinions, but at the same time he wants you to hang on every word he says. Also there’s the idea with women that “I want to be the first to really understand this person”. I never seem to meet women like that. It is said that Bad Boys have rough edges but the real bad boys have polished edges. One criticisum of Dr. Laura I have is that if you listen to her advice you’ll weed out all the men except the ones that are especially good at lying to you and tell you exactly what you want to hear.

There is the case of that sexual predator with a long record that strangled that woman with her own bikini top named Sours or something. They say there is an eighty percent repeat rate in sexual predators. One woman says you can put a GPS tracking device on the guy and it will only cost ten dollars a day. I don’t know anyone who will work for ten dollars a day dedicating his whole day to watching the movements of one suspect. The more men you track the more people it takes to track them. It’s the same principle as drug testing. The more people you test for drugs the greater chance there is of a potential screw-up. That bikini top guy had a long record. But it seems the goal is to not let him “slip through the system” in the first place. Obviously if every predator got twenty years for a first time offence, soon there would be much fewer predators. My guess is after 20 or 25 years in prison a person would have to have mellowed out. Maybe the worst offenders could be put in one of those “Pellican Bay” type of prisons. Some may say this sort of prison is expensive to build. I guess the question is just how highly to we value a moral society where the guilty are truely punished.

Yesterday they had a funeral for one of those girls in that great blondes mix-up where one girl was presumed dead and the other, who looked a lot like her, was in a coma, and nobody, strangely enough, could tell the difference. Both families should be kept in prayer.

Finally I would like to address the question of astrology and the Bible. According to the KFI host, anyone who believes in astrology will burn in hell. I have never seen that verse in the Bible myself. It says in Genesis, "Let them (celestial bodies) be for signs and for seasons". The definition of "sign" is never given but in Job, two constelations by their classic Greek names are given, Orion and the Pliades. This would seem to me that God is name endoucing here. The Catholic Church at one time endourced astrology.

Moses, who talked to God Face to Face

I'm not sure what's going to happen with this posting. The last post I did on this blog seemed to encounter technical difficulties and never got posted correctly. Also the introductory paragraph about mysel I added was not listed. At any rate I'm going to be blogging less in the future because I'm not entirely sure that my efforts are bearing any worthwhile fruit.

Moses was said to be more humble than any man. He was first of all the reluctant prophet. Many prophets of God tend to be a little reluctant, but God has to use gentle perswasion. As you know Moses in his early years killed an Egyptian task master and burried his body in the sand, and then fled Egypt. When he first met Jehovah God he did not know his name. Formerly the Hebrews had known God under the name of "El", which the Caanenites used. But God's new name, Jehovah, means "The becomming one". Whatever you need, God will supply it. Moses was humble because God was always trying to get him to assert his rights to authority over the people. It is always said, "With freedom comes responsability". That's why the Ten Commandments were given. The first time Moses ascended Mt. Sinai it was Pentacost. Moses stayed up there for forty days and he came down on the Seventeenth of Tammuz, which also happens to be a Babylonian holiday. The people had made a golden calf and said that it led them out of Egypt. Leter Jereboam fashioned two golden calfs where the people could do sacrifice, one in Dan and the other in Beth El. People are always saying that if you don't know the law you aren't guilty of breaking it, but I've never heard of any police department that worked on this principle. The law exists, with or without your knowledge, and with or without your obediance. It is said that Jesus died for our sins. Oddly, it doesn't say that Jesus died for our transgressions. Moses smashed the golden tablets in a rage because the Law stood already "broken". Later, on the first of the month of Elul, Moses ascended the mountain again. Once more he stayed up there forty days and came down on the holiday Yom Kippur. This time the tablets were unbroken and placed in the Ark of the Covenent, along with a jar of manna from heaven, on which the people lived during their forty year trek through the wilderness, and also the rod of Aaron, which budded. It is said that this seccond set of tablets represent Christ. Obviously when Jehovah had the chance to do a rewrite he didn't change any of the laws. They are the Ten Commandments and not the ten suggestions. The Arc of the Covenent is believed to have had some electrical charge around it so that if anybody touched it, they would die. There were four colored curtains surrounding the Arc of the Covenent that many commentators say stand for the four Gospells. Jehovah said that if you kept all the statutes of the law, you would live a blessed life. Presumably this means that since Jesus Christ kept the law perfectly, we by partaking of his flesh and drinking his blood and being baptized in his name, assume His perfection. Jehovah said "The curse without a cause does not come". He also said of his people that "No weapon formed against you will prosper". I like that.

Leo Le Port says that congress was debating an "equal bits on the internet" law. The phone company to charge other I S P's for use of their phone lines and raise costs. There are all of these roomers of a two tiered internet system where if you have D S L it costs more. They tried to get Congress pass a law enfourcing internet equality, but it didn't pass.

I would like to talk briefly about Anne Coulter. Many like World Net Daily are defending her even though a lot of her remarks are crude and tasteless. Many would say "It takes one to know one" and all that. As Christians we are called to a higher standard. Even if certain people on the left have stepped over the line as to what is an accurate or appropiate remark, and called various government officials names, we on the right should not imotate their behavior. One time parents came to Dr. Phill complaining about the "pissing bandit". Their two year old ran around stark naked and would piss over all of the furnature and such, and people around thought it all was very amusing. There are many ways you could deal with this aberent behavior but one of the alternatives would not be to, for instance, pee on the little kid yourself making comments like "There- - how do you feel about that?" The kid would get precisely the wrong idea from such behavior thinking it was a contest. In like manner, Christians are held to a higher, adult standard, and it's our job to contrast our ways from the ways of the infantile and the childish. Our job is to proclaim the gospell. It's also the Christians job to show love for all mankind. Nobody can say that Anne Coulter shows love for all mankind. At the very best, her "Christian witness" is flawed, if it exists at all. Of course we are supposed to respect the dead and the feelings of widdows. There is a price to defending your country. We shouldn't con ourselves into thinking that the ultamate sacrifice isn't being paid. As Christians we are not to be as the Moslems, but are always to be praying that true peace be established. What Does God Require of Us?

As an answer to this question number one on this list is perpetual virginity untill, and if, we get married. The norm is to get married to one spouce for life. When this standard was established life expectancy was 45 years or less. There was no "mid life crisis" because you didn't have to worry about that sort of thing; you were dead. So you wouldn't have all these divorces once the children are gone. It is said if you're a virgin till marriage you will live a blessed life. Two negitive examples scream out in my mind as to why this is not so. Pricilla was a virgin when she married Elvis. It seemed important to Elvis that she stay a virgin untill she married Elvis and she was going to stay a virgin even if Elvis had to find solice elsewhere such as with Anne Margeret. Of course under this theory the husband is supposed to be so "impressed" with your purety that he will stay loyal for life. In Pricilla's case this wasn't so. Her marriage to Elvis was doomed almost from the start. The other example is Princess Dianna. Once again her marriage was doomed almost from the start because Charles was in love with Camille Parker Bowles. What makes this case even worse is that Charles met Camille in 1971 but he was forbidden from marrying her because she was Not a virgin. Even on soap operas where people make this great attempt to be perfect and end up causing disaster. The case of Grace Bennet on Passions stands out in my mind. Some may object "Well, in those two cases you mentioned the partner was not a virgin". I was typing a paragraph yesterday and one of the warning signs of stalker men against women is if he says to you "You're the first relation I've really had". Such men develope an obcessive posessiveness tword their women, which is extremely unhealthy.

Still the idea of seeking God's will is a good idea. It's always a good thing to pray for the faith of others who are weak, that God may strengthen them. I'm trying to quit smoking. This is a "lust of the flesh" also. Just over five years ago I quit alcohol. That's news. What is not apparently news is that in those five years I have not had a sexual relationship with a woman. Alcaholics Anonamus doesn't hand out commemoritive coins for that.

"If the Moslems do as much as you,
of what profit is your Faith?"

"Charity is not for those of Faith,
but for the heathen as a witness"

"If you gain total mastry over the flesh
but in the after-life are treated

equally to one who hasn't gained mastry,
of what profit is your Faith?"

"A wise men has said that life is
not the destination, life is the journey.

What is Eternal Life to you
if now you are living in boredom & discontent?"

"If Faith is the substance of things hoped for
and you do not have these

Cannot it be said you do not have Faith?
And if it's true you do not have
Faith
and whatever is not of Faith is sin,
are you not living in Sin?"

This blog was written this morning and it has not posted all day and it' nearly 3:30 now. Maybe God doesn't want this blog posted; I don't know. Nobody reads these blogs anyhow. They say in the promos that "Profiles help people find you, if you want to be found". I'm not sure what that means. What I need to do is send out E mails with these blog website addresses on them. But I'm not going to put out just any personal information about myself to total strangers. This blog site has been having trouble with their software, so I'll try and post one more time. I'm not giving my birthday in my profile because I don't want anyone doing horoscopes. There may be hints as to other aspects to my identity. My spelling isn't always accurate.

I happened to think, many of the things below the Moslems also believe, and yet we don't call them pious; we call them evil. The Moslems, too believe in an After Life and relish martyrdom. Being a martyr of course just means being a "witness". I am not allowed to be a "Witness" of my faith and life because people may not like what they hear. It used to be that honisty and sincerety and dedication were prized qualities. I'm not sure if they are today.

1 : And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
2 : Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
3 : Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;
4 : Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
5 : These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
6 : But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
7 : And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
8 : Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
9 : Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,
10 : Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.
11 : And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, inquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.
12 : And when ye come into an house, salute it.
13 : And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.
14 : And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
15 : Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
16 : Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
17 : But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;
18 : And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.
19 : But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.
20 : For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.
21 : And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
22 : And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
23 : But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.
24 : The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
25 : It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?
26 : Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
27 : What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
28 : And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
29 : Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
30 : But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 : Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
32 : Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
33 : But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
34 : Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
35 : For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
36 : And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
37 : He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
38 : And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
39 : He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
40 : He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
41 : He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.
42 : And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

Greetings to those who logged on to this blog. We ran into a few technical difficulties in giving you the ten commandments but we fixed some of it. I decided to offer no commentary on it in between the cerses as I had planned on. There are two postings after (ie. before) the stuff with the Bible verses in it and there we offer you plenty of comentary.

Bearing false witness is not lying to protect another from capture like with Jews hunting the Nazis in world war II. People who say the Jews should have turned in their friends whom they were hiding don't know their Bible. Bearing false witness has to do with a very specific court testimony where you are making an accusation against your neighbor. You are to obey oaths you sware to God. The solution to falsely swaring to God is not to refuse to sware at all, like the Jehovah's Witnesses, the solution is to Sware Truthfully. If any President of witness before congress refuses to put himself under oath and be sworn in, he is a coward and shouldn't be listened to.

Taking the Lord's name in vain is not uttering an occasional Hell of Damn but rather invoking God's name in a vain pursuit as the Christians do. Taking the Lord's name in vain is uttering a false prophecy and having it fail. Taking the Lord's name in vain is doing or saying anything in God's name that you can't perfonally back up with proof.

Adultry presupposes there is some "thing" to adulterate. Marriage can be adulterated. A single person dating another single person can not be said to be in sin because he is not under any contract not to do the thing he is being accused of. You can't be unfailthful to something which does not exist. "Pre-marital sex" is not a phraise pro or con used in the Bible.

You can covet more than your neighbor's posessions. You can covet your neighbor's God if he is prospering as a Christian and you aren't doing well at the moment as a non Christians. You can covet your neighbor's "peace of mind" which is not yours, any more than his wife or his car is yours to covet. Neither is his relations with his own god "yours" to covet.

Nowhere or in no matter is it implied that the Sabbath is null and void for Christians. Indeed all of God's law is a "perpetual covenent" and the rule is there for a reason.
And God spake all these words, saying,
I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the
land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any
likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in
the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them:
for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the
iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third
and fourth generation of them that hate me;
And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love
me, and keep my commandments.
Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in
vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that
taketh his name in vain.
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy
God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son,
nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant,
nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth,
the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh
day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day,
and hallowed it.
Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may
be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Thou shalt not kill.
Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Thou shalt not steal.
Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt
not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant,
nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any
thing that is thy neighbour's.
1 : Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them.
2 : If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.
3 : If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him.
4 : If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself.
5 : And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free:
6 : Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever.
7 : And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do.
8 : If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her.
9 : And if he have betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters.
10 : If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.
11 : And if he do not these three unto her, then shall she go out free without money.
12 : He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death.
13 : And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver him into his hand; then I will appoint thee a place whither he shall flee.
14 : But if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die.
15 : And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.
16 : And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.
17 : And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.
18 : And if men strive together, and one smite another with a stone, or with his fist, and he die not, but keepeth his bed:
19 : If he rise again, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that smote him be quit: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed.
20 : And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished.
21 : Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money.
22 : If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.
23 : And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,
24 : Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
25 : Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
26 : And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eye's sake.
27 : And if he smite out his manservant's tooth, or his maidservant's tooth; he shall let him go free for his tooth's sake.
28 : If an ox gore a man or a woman, that they die: then the ox shall be surely stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be quit.
29 : But if the ox were wont to push with his horn in time past, and it hath been testified to his owner, and he hath not kept him in, but that he hath killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his owner also shall be put to death.
30 : If there be laid on him a sum of money, then he shall give for the ransom of his life whatsoever is laid upon him.
31 : Whether he have gored a son, or have gored a daughter, according to this judgment shall it be done unto him.
32 : If the ox shall push a manservant or a maidservant; he shall give unto their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.
33 : And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit, and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein;
34 : The owner of the pit shall make it good, and give money unto the owner of them; and the dead beast shall be his.
35 : And if one man's ox hurt another's, that he die; then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the money of it; and the dead ox also they shall divide.
36 : Or if it be known that the ox hath used to push in time past, and his owner hath not kept him in; he shall surely pay ox for ox; and the dead shall be his own.
: If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.
2 : If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him.
3 : If the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full restitution; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.
4 : If the theft be certainly found in his hand alive, whether it be ox, or ass, or sheep; he shall restore double.
5 : If a man shall cause a field or vineyard to be eaten, and shall put in his beast, and shall feed in another man's field; of the best of his own field, and of the best of his own vineyard, shall he make restitution.
6 : If fire break out, and catch in thorns, so that the stacks of corn, or the standing corn, or the field, be consumed therewith; he that kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.
7 : If a man shall deliver unto his neighbour money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of the man's house; if the thief be found, let him pay double.
8 : If the thief be not found, then the master of the house shall be brought unto the judges, to see whether he have put his hand unto his neighbour's goods.
9 : For all manner of trespass, whether it be for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, or for any manner of lost thing, which another challengeth to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; and whom the judges shall condemn, he shall pay double unto his neighbour.
10 : If a man deliver unto his neighbour an ass, or an ox, or a sheep, or any beast, to keep; and it die, or be hurt, or driven away, no man seeing it:
11 : Then shall an oath of the LORD be between them both, that he hath not put his hand unto his neighbour's goods; and the owner of it shall accept thereof, and he shall not make it good.
12 : And if it be stolen from him, he shall make restitution unto the owner thereof.
13 : If it be torn in pieces, then let him bring it for witness, and he shall not make good that which was torn.
14 : And if a man borrow ought of his neighbour, and it be hurt, or die, the owner thereof being not with it, he shall surely make it good.
15 : But if the owner thereof be with it, he shall not make it good: if it be an hired thing, it came for his hire.
16 : And if a man entice a maid that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he shall surely endow her to be his wife.
17 : If her father utterly refuse to give her unto him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins.
18 : Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.
19 : Whosoever lieth with a beast shall surely be put to death.
20 : He that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed.
21 : Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
22 : Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.
23 : If thou afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all unto me, I will surely hear their cry;
24 : And my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.
25 : If thou lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him usury.
26 : If thou at all take thy neighbour's raiment to pledge, thou shalt deliver it unto him by that the sun goeth down:
27 : For that is his covering only, it is his raiment for his skin: wherein shall he sleep? and it shall come to pass, when he crieth unto me, that I will hear; for I am gracious.
28 : Thou shalt not revile the gods, nor curse the ruler of thy people.
29 : Thou shalt not delay to offer the first of thy ripe fruits, and of thy liquors: the firstborn of thy sons shalt thou give unto me.
30 : Likewise shalt thou do with thine oxen, and with thy sheep: seven days it shall be with his dam; on the eighth day thou shalt give it me.
31 : And ye shall be holy men unto me: neither shall ye eat any flesh that is torn of beasts in the field; ye shall cast it to the dogs.
1 : Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.
2 : Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment:
3 : Neither shalt thou countenance a poor man in his cause.
4 : If thou meet thine enemy's ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again.
5 : If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under his burden, and wouldest forbear to help him, thou shalt surely help with him.
6 : Thou shalt not wrest the judgment of thy poor in his cause.
7 : Keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I will not justify the wicked.
8 : And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous.
9 : Also thou shalt not oppress a stranger: for ye know the heart of a stranger, seeing ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
10 : And six years thou shalt sow thy land, and shalt gather in the fruits thereof:
11 : But the seventh year thou shalt let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, and with thy oliveyard.
12 : Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest: that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed.
13 : And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.
14 : Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year.

LEAD ME TO THE ROCK THAT IS HIGHER THAN I

Allright for you people logging in mid day Monday May 1st. we just got done with an expository evaluation of The Ten Commandments. In case you are wondering this blog originates in the Los Angeles area. Wasn't that LA Lakers game something yesterday? The game was just barely tied at the last minute to send the game into overtime and then won at the last minute by one point. Now the LA Lakers are up three games to one over the dreaded Phoenix Suns. If the Lakers can get past the Suns there's no reason why they don't have a good shot of going all the way. As you know today is May first. Law day. And so in the post I haven't written yet I thought it appropiate to talk about what ethical principles I was guided by. Of course May first has been a "workers" day. It started off as a pagen Witch's Sabbath, one of which occurred four times a year in the middle of each of the four seasons. The Russians appropiated this celebration as a holiday. One Jew asked another back during World War II "When will Adolph Hitler be killed" and the other Jews said, "I won't know exactly, but I know it will be on a Jewish holiday" and the other man said, "How so?" and the first said "Any day Hitler is killed will be a Jewish holiday". Almost.

I thought of setting up a blog called "Impeachment Watch". It seems as if George Bush is getting himself deeper and deeper all the time. KTLK is running these adds for "The Nation" and saying if you were too young to miss Watergate this time you can get in on the ground floor. You can download their articles of impeachment on the internet. I'd do it for you now but I don't want to get kicked off this blog site for copyright violations. Today Al Frankin on 1150 is doing a personality comparrison between Franklin Roosevelt and George Bush. Of course AM 1150 can be accessed on the internet. Do a Google search for KTLK 1150 AM. If you watch FOX comedies like the Simpsons and Family Guy, you know the liberals are on the run. Of course today in LA is a day of demonstration activity for the Mexican race. I have no position on that one day or the other. But I do think Bush's immigration bill is probably the best thing they're going to get as to "being legal" is concerned. They should grab the deal.

"Betrayed with a kiss on a cool night of bliss - - and there's no time to think"

Back in early 1988 I had another of my famous dreams. This one was a dream about Judas. I dreamed I was Judas and that the date of Christ's crusifiction was the Hebrew first of Elul, or their six month, which occurs sometime in August of each year. It is said to be the beginning of the forty "days of awe" when they blow the choffar (sp?) every day for forty dayd. When Moses first went up to Mt. Sinai it was "pentacost". When he came down it was on the seventeenth of Tammuz, which is in July, when he broke the tablets. On the first of Elul Moses again ascended the Holy Mount and came back down on Yom Kippur, 40 days later with the unbroken tablets. As you know the forty days Moses was first on the mount it was Party Time down below. If Jesus was the 2nd. Moses then the first of Elul date makes a little sense. This would be on a new moon where it would at least be possible to have a total ecclipse. This just might explain the three hours of darkness of Christ on the cross. However none of the other things took place such as the curtain of the temple in Jerusalem being torn in two- - didn't happen. In this dream I as Judas regretted the betrayal of Jesus almost from the moment I did it. I hoped Jesus wouldn't be killed. I remembered not being to find out any information but there were only roomers. St. Peter came and told me a day or so later, perhaps the same day that Jesus would appear to all of the desciples in two weeks on the next full moon. I think Joseph of Arithmea or someone told Peter. I waited out the period anxiously and I kept hearing roomers he'd put in an appearence, but it never happened and gradually the apostles one by one lost interest. I remember being in a cave being up all night and looking out to the west seeing the past full moon in the early morning sky. I remember thinking of my mother, whom I had been mailing money to out of the money purse, and I believe I was composing one last letter to her. I remember crying out to God in anguish how God could allow this thing to happen but my thoughts were of suicide and something that I had to do.

A Rock and Roll interlude. If the compilation on the last blog begins climbing up the charts, after a while we'll release another from the Federation and I have this perfect follow-up in mind. It was compiled in late September 2004 and it is drawn from songs in a narrow eight year period from 1970 to 1978 when the songs were the most prolific.

JUST GIMME SOME TRUTH

It occurred to me that if you don't have truth, everything else you say will lose credibility. Yesterday on "Breakfast with the Beatles" the DJ was insensed at hoe bogus a certain seance to reach John Lennon was. For you new people my position on the dead is this. I believe that the "soul" or self as we know it is mortal and "passes" with the both out of existance. However I, like the Greeks believe that ideas have a reality of their own. And that includes the ideas of people, their values and what they stand for. As such I believe that the dead can be contacted in a matter of fashion. In the seance John asked about Sean but not Julian. For those who know John this is one major "blind spot" or flaw in his personality. He likes to pretend his son with Cynthia doesn't exist. He never really acknoledged him when he was alive and now that he's dead nothing in changed. "John" in the seance did say one thing I definitely take issue with. He said that the afterlife is "anything you want it to be". Not if it includes Yoco it doesn't. Yoco isn't there. In a lot of the "Messages" I get from the dead, couples, or for that matter, mothers and sons, ect. are not together. I only say this because there is one big truth, "What you are is what you are". I say this because people picture themselves "getting saved" and "something positive transforms their very nature" so that their after life is now vastly improved from what it would otherwise be. Think about this and how little sense it makes. They say you are in "heaven" or are in "hell" for an eternity all because you said "Deal" or "No Deal" to the offer of Jesus of eternal salvation, as if Jesus personally came up and offered it to you. If you think about it a block of wood- - - a wood carving as as much "credential" to be "alive" in the afterlife as a human being does. How long is eternity. In the twelve billion years of the Universe and all the time to come till the universe is destroyed- - - not one second will have ticked off the clock of eternity. After all for life to take place something has to be going on. Cells are dividing and growing and nutrition is being matabalized. This all takes place in time, and with eternity, there is no time. As such it is positively absurd to say "as of March 24th. 1976 I knew I was going to heaven". The date "March 24th. means nothing in eternity. The mormons say that when you die the life you had before birth and your memory of it will be restored to you. This makes more sense than what the fundamentalists say. Eternity has no end and no beginning and doesn't even ralate to time. So you can't say something like "In early March of 1986 John Smith sealed his fate for all eternity and is now going to hell". Eternity doesn't know "1986" or any other date or year. As such "worrying about eternity" is even sillier than worrying about using your outdoor grill causing global warming. Think about it.

There is a book I've been reading the past few days called "Destined for Salvation" and it is subtitled "God's plan to save everyone". Scripture says Jesus' blood is sufficient to save the whole world. It is also stated "God's will is that everyone come to knowledge of Him". You know there used to be a song, "What ever Lola wants, Lola gets". Is not God greater than some woman trying to seduce a man younger than herself in a baseball stadium locker? Two words really not in God's vocabularly are "want" and "wait". For God words are things. If he says it, it happens. And yet we are told- - "Christ died only for the sins of the elect". How do you get "elect". Saint Paul tells you that nobody can come to God unless the Holy Spirit draws him. There is also another doctrine called "total depravity". This translates as follows: Human kind is unable to make a moral decision on anything- and that includes a decision to "save himself". Jesus Christ on KFI has stated, "It is an insult to say that Christ didn't do it all on the cross". If this be so, that Christ "did it all" on the cross than Praise the Lord, it's done! God came to save the world- - and God is sovreign so vualah- - the world must ipso facto be saved. The book Destined for Salvation also speaks of 'Irrestable Grace". This doctrine is not original with this book. John Calvin taught that "those who are meant to be saved, will be saved". (Selah)

The book went on to talk about Justinian. This guy wasn't a nice fellow. He is said to be the "last Roman Emperor". He became emperor in 425 or something and reigned for forty years to become an old man and died in 465 or something. It is said he unified the Roman law codes in a way they never had been done before. But he was also tyranical. I've heard that the library in Alexandria in Egypt was burned down under his reign. He snuffed out any native worship of the classical Greek Gods. He also made Christians fight in the army for the first time. Gone was the Christian belief in pacifism. He set a lot of bad precidents. There were still a lot of people in the Catholic church that believed in Universal salvation for all prior to Justinian. But Judtinian rooted them out and eliminated them. Origen and many other theologians in earlier centuries believed in universal salvation. There was a web site I logged into that quoted mountains of scripture in the old testament where "going to Hell" was not listed as a punishment.

Mark Twain was said to have rejected God because God created Hell and also caused innocent children to suffer. I had always thought Mark Twane was a Christian. The book states that many are driven away from God because they cannot reconsile God being all powerful and all good and at the same time allowing Evil to win such a massive victory. (Selah)

IS GOD'S WILL TRUELY DONE ON EARTH?

Dear Larry Elder,
I am inspired to write you today by a remark I heard you nake on your show about a week ago. You were criticizing some caller because they said that they were battling the Devil, and you said, "I believe God is in control of things". I don't, and I don't believe such an attitude is even Biblical. As you will remember Jesus was tempted by Satan and offered the world if he would just bow down and worship Satan. Here's the opperative line: These things are Mine and I may give them to whoever I choose". Jesus did not contest this statement. I know where the attitude stems from. That "Jesus" fellow over on the other station espouses the view that there no longer is a Satan. These people often go on to talk about how the future is in God's hands because God knows the future because he's predestined all things down to the smallest detail- - down to the last hickup- - from the foundation of the Earth. There was one group of Christians that in the 1996 election prayed "Thy will be done", even though it led to Clinton being elected. You may not believe this but I was strongly for Bob Dole that year for a multitude of reasons. These same Christians have the attitude that "Our side has won and nothing can go wrong now, and don't even dare to imply otherwise because you'll ruin our perfect day". The attitude of a real Winner is the realization that he could lose if he doesn't give it his all, and that it all isn't somehow "scripted out in advance by some divine hand" in advance. There are people that believe we make our own future.
I say all this because frankly if I were President Bush now I would not be a happy camper. Not one bit. You have civil threatened in Iraq between the Sunis and the Shiites. You have formerly conservative people like Bill Crystal and William Buckley breaking rank and saying what Howard Dean was criticized for saying "The war in Iraq is lost". You have Bush down to 34% approval in the polls and you've got Hillary beating the Secretary of State in a two woman race. In fact the only republican who can beat Hillary now is John Mc Cain. It used to be almost any republican would beat her a few months back but things have slipped since then. The funny thing is if "Our side" (meaning the liberals) wins, we'll all be happy for the most part. If "Your side" loses, all you will be able to do is be like those Born Again (so called) Christians and say "Thy will be done". You'll have to come up with a reason why the democrats now control congress and suffered such stunning losses in 2006. In fact if you don't "accept the loss" some of the "Thy will be done" ilk will say that you "Just don't understand the purpose of God". The Democrats don't have that problem. To them a win is a win. (Selah)
Believe it or not I am still a registered Republican and am one of those who plans to vote for Mc Cain. Actually I am afraid, as you should be too, of a political split in the Republicans right down the middle. There's also a survay that says conservative talk shows are declining in popularity. Believe it or not I had hopes for President Bush. I hoped Roe vs Wade would be overturned. I hoped Social Security would be privitized. This is a crisis that's headed headlong for disaster, and soon. It's not a question of "either- or" but rather "both- - - and". Anything that CAN be done SHOULD be done to save social securety from ruin and that includes raising taxes AND setting up private accounts. I would like to see more alternative energy research. I would like to see both security at our borders AND our ports tightened. So many people are Bush "Kool Aid drinkers" who say Bush can do no wrong. It was my hope that the United States would be more respected around the world than it was under Clinton. I'd like to see no fault divorce laws repealed, and respect for the sanctitude of marriage increased. I am not much more confortable than you at all the left-wing movies up for accademy awards this year. I think we should revive that "NAZI" method of extractring gasoline from coal in Montana, if it's really cleaner. To be honist- if I were President I don't think the Katrina people would be any happier with me than with President Bush. Bush has done about all he can do and basically you and I agree it's the fault of the state and local planners who should have known better. Actually, I haven't made up my mind whom I'll vote for President in 2008 yet.

THROUGH THE RIGHT WING LOOKING GLASS

Dearl Larry Elder, Since my last letter was the first letter I wrote you I didn't even get around to touching upon the many, many concerns I have about your beliefs and your radio program. It's a strange world when any speaker gets up and criticizes a congressman who lived in the 1830's as "Too Liberal" for your tastes. Davie Crockett being lectured by a farmer for voting for relief from a local fire is a scenario I wouldn't believe as a Twilight Zone episode. Of course who would have guessed? Last year's villain was Valerie Plame (?) who was "outed" as part of a political vendetta against her husband, because he wasn't "giving the report the Bush Administration wanted to hear" about Iraq. I've been reading Bob Woodword's book and I find it tedius and depressing because Bush only wants to hear one thing from his subordenates and friends and that's unqualified support of whatever he does. The paranoia sounded by people like you and Rush Limbaugh just isn't Mc Carthyism, it's Joe Mc Carthy on steroids! You people "explain" that you can't trust the CIA because THAT has been taken over by liberals. You can't trust the State Department because it has been taken over by liberals. You can't trust congress because it, the "representatives of the people" has been taken over by liberals. I don't know who does the call screening on shows like youre but that's the first thing I'd change if I were program producer. This whole idea of "Being at War" is a term that could backfire on you. Let me get this straight. About the only time we WERN'T at war was during the terms of Bush 41 and BILL CLINTON. I know you bristle when someone says "George Bush is the first president who has cut taxes during war time". By the way we could talk about Ronald Reagan. He "got lucky" with the Russians. He played Russian roulette- - and won. If it was my child thinking of "Going thou and doing likewise" I would have a very stern lecture with my son.
I guess I'd like to know what the 'Ideal World" of Larry Elder is. Is it the John Kovelt vision of the world where the rich huddle behind multi-locked doors and securety systems cowering from all those blacks out to get 'em. And of course "They" are out to raise their property taxes. Of course Police don't seem to value the Property of Blacks the way they do of Whites. There was that case of the unarmed van and over one hundred shots being fired at an unarmed driver turning the local neighborhood into the OK Caral. You have Tiesha Miller who was gunned down in a hail of bullets. As John Kovel explains it "Once the adrenelin gets pumping, those cops can't control themselves? We know you hate ghetto people. I wonder how much you've done constructive about it. Ghettos are plagued with drugs. How much time have you actually SPENT talking about drug dealers on your program? Prostitution is a problem but I'll tell you this: If more Black women listened to Gloria Alred instead of you they'd have more respect for their own bodies and not allow themselves to be used and debased, or used as someone's punching bag. The ghetto has it's scammers and con artists. There are certain "forms of Capitalisum" that are just immoral and un-Christian, no matter how you slice it. Of course we have already talked about the minimum wage. If it were at the level YOU WANT IT to be nobody would be able to earn any kind of a living but even more people would be forced to get on the Welfare tread-mill.
You have people who aren't what they seem. Blacks who aren't really Blacks, Gays who aren't really Gays, and Jews who aren't really Jews. I've heard now that only two percent of Blacks currently support George Bush. Wouldn't it be nice to hear from the other 98% on talk radio? The only gays you hear on the radio are people like Al Rantell and Tammy Bruce. By the way- wasn't it gays, according to Oliver Stone, who wanted to kill President Kennedy? I just thought I'd mention that. You yourself call yourself a Christian and also write for some Jewish publication. Dennis Prager calls himself a Jew but he spends so much time kissing fundamentalist Christianity's ass it's hard to tell. You know there is something called the Samson Option that Christians talk about. If Isrial finds itself attacked, either literally or in their minds, these people advise Nuking the whole region and sending people to the Promised Land. You know who has the expression "It's Going to all Burn" don't you? Chuck Smith. A lot of Christians today are nehilists. They- in opposition to Classic Conservatisum- - have a very low view of Human Nature. I've said enough. I've heard that "Jesus Christ" fellow on the other station so don't get me started on him. I only mention this stuff because some will say "It's not the Governments job to be charitable and compassionate; that's the church's". Well, you know the people who say this have the "same hearts" and the same low view of humanity whether in the Church Pew, or in the Voting Booth.

RIGHT WING HORRORS

Your address didn't turn dark so maybe that means that this publication won't send.
Dear Larry Elder. I have been a listener of your show on KABC since you first came on the air as a counter-point to Gloria Alred. Frankly I liked you a lot better when you were with her than now that you're by yourself. KFI and KABC have gotten so right wing it's hard to imagine that you both aren't losing all your listeners, particularly KABC. I think it's pretty safe to say you are anything but Libertarian. Ultra conservative is more like it.
Some of the "right wing horrors" of your show consist of your solution to the illegal alien problem, which is to wipe out the "safty net" here and eliminate all government education and welfare. Further you don't seem to mind that illegal aliens are depressing the wage base and tightening the employment market, more in bad times than now. You also seem to have a cure for teenage deliquency by saying "Those people should work for three dollars an hour so you can learn the value of a dollar". You are beyond right wing. Around you time and space seem distorted. You have indicated that you think insider trading in stocks should be allowed. Like Samuel Allito you seem to always favor the big corporation and stick it to the little guy. You say you are in favor of "free markets" and yet you are against US citizens being allowed to purchase drugs in Canada because this would cut into drug company profits. You and I might actually agree on something. We both agree that that Bush bill on senior drug discount Sucks. It's just another way to feed corporate profits.
On race relations your position is worse. There doesn't seem to be a cop beating that you don't like. I don't know if you have yet weighed in on that cop shooting of a guy who was lying down and ordered to get up and then shot. You say (at least I think you do) you want Blacks to get ahead and yet you can't resist saying how many Black men are in prison or how many unwed mothers there are. If you are ever in the position of saying something Good about your race like how things are better than they used to be, it's done with clinched teeth and resentment. You are against affirmitive action. You are against racial quotas, and I'm not big on racial quotas, either, per se. But I'll tell you this: If I were a Supreme Court justice and a case like the University of Michigan came before me where whites had to have a higher score I would try the case on its legal basis and not with my emotion. My soul consideration would be whether the law allowing quotas was legal and if it was I'd respect the oppinion of the legeslators. You'd be hard pressed to somehow justify overturning a law promoting racial equality on the basis of the 14th. Amendment. To say that you are an Uncle Tom is an insult to the original 1852 Novel character.
In case you are wonder I am on the under stratum of society. I live in a Board and Care home. If you must know I am the first person in this building to get on the internet. In case you are also interested I may be "too well off" because I just learned of some technicality where my S S I may be in jeopardy.
Before your show this afternoon, February 1st. 2006 I didn't think George Bush's speech had much good in it. You pointed out there WERE a fleeting few good sentaments in the speech, and that's about all they are. I disagree with your statement that "We are at War" and therefore all civel liberties are suspended. You'd think a libertarian would be in favor of civel liberties, wouldn't you? Apparently not.

I always believe in respecting readers of my postings. Thank you for your time.
